Amy Licence is a historian with a special interest in the medieval and Tudor world. She became interested in history as a child, visiting castles and museums, reading books and wondering about lives people led in the past. Amy has a BA in English Literature and an MA in Medieval History and has published biographies of Richard, his wife Anne Neville, his mother Cecily Neville and his niece Elizabeth of York. She has also written about the lives of the Tudor kings and queens.
Amy is a qualified teacher and spent ten years in the classroom as well as designing syllabuses and reading lists. She has been a Leading Literacy Teacher specialising in children’s literature and the use of open questions to extend learning and conducted studies into gender and genre. Amy also gives a number of talks at historical locations and on the radio and TV. She is the mother of two small boys.
